Vision
The Department of Geology and Mining Engineering is considered a unit of higher education for students and professional engineers. Development and society play a fundamental role in welfare. Also, the training and education of young staff in this department is done by experienced teachers, the professional engineers of this department can lead the country towards progress and development.
And wants to become an advanced scientific institution in the country and region in the field of exploration, exploration and geological studies of mineral materials for the next few years, training and educating young staff through innovations and innovations by the experienced teachers of the department. , carrying out various teaching methods, tests, practical applications, as well as promoting the culture of research and compilation for the development of society in the way of economic and social development and well-being.

Mission
The Department of Geology and Mining Engineering, like other departments, is engaged in the training and education of professional geological engineers (Geological Engineers), raising the scientific level of students and their active participation in the exploration and exploration of useful solid materials, various Setting up geological maps, determining the value and usefulness of various mines play a fundamental role in the well-being of the country and society. Objectives:
The purpose and goal of education is to train professional engineers related to the needs of society in the production sector. It is necessary to meet the standard standards of the educational curriculum in order to create a better foundation for higher education related to international standards and high quality, so that professional engineers related to the needs of the society can be presented to the society. The aims and objectives of this department are briefly described below
1- Ability to benefit from science, mathematics and geological sciences to solve geological and mineral exploration problems.
2- Carrying out geological research of mines in the fields related to mines and petroleum
3- Practical work in mining and geological survey laboratories.
4- To find the best variant of utility for different mines
5- Familiarizing students with the principles of mining exploration and environmental protection
6- Calculation of mineral reserves, separation of industrial mining tapes and identification of precious and semi-precious stones.
7- Acquainting students with contemporary research and student-centered and results-based learning (OBE-SCL)
8- The skills of planning and designing mineral exploration projects
9- Designing, sampling and mapping the sampling network by means of geological tools, as well as drawing and arranging geophysical, geochemical and geological maps for them with the help of software related to the geology and exploration of mineral materials.
10-Using aerial photographs for exploration and exploration of mineral materials
